The University of Montreal will be hosting a conference titled “Access to rights and resources: challenges of contemporary India” to be held at the Symposium Research Center, Carrefour des Arts and Sciences University of Montreal, on February 7, 2014.
The conference will be organized around three round tables whose themes are: 1) access to the justice system, the recognition of rights and gender; 2 ) sustainable development, environment, and socio-economic inequalities; and 3) open discussion on the upcoming elections in India.
On Thursday, February 6 in the evening, there will also be a keynote address delivered by Mrs. Mira Kamdar of the World Policy Institute entitled “India 21st Century.” Ms. Kamdar is an associate expert at the Asia Society in New York and a professor specializing in India at Science Po Paris.
